Thanks, Kathryn, for getting the word out.
I met with my friend this morning to discuss the logistics of this reading plan. She was overwhelmed by the number of TSAS students willing to volunteer time to help her students, and wants to thank all of you who have signed up. We will be traveling to KW each Wednesday at 3:15, then reading to the kids until 4:45 or so. If you need a ride, post a comment below or talk to me and we'll take care of you.
Below is the list of people who have asked to volunteer. If you don't see your name, let me know and I'll add it!
Kathryn O.
Katherine R.
Aili B.
Johnna C.
Tabitha L.
Rebecca S.
Andy P.
Mary G.
Brit B.
Whitney S.
This is a great group, but we need more people! Send me an email (jstallings AT tsas DOT org) if you can help. Remember, there is no pressure with this project. You will not be asked to teach anything, or speak in front of the students. At the beginning, most of you will be pared with just one or two kids. This is "hang out with the big kids" time for them, not school, so have a good time and remember this: You're making a difference!
For those who have signed up, we will have an orientation at KW (email for directions) this Wednesday (the sixth) at 3:15. This will give you a chance to see the school, meet the kids' teacher, and understand how you can help the kids.

I get to go on Wednesday :).
Silly work fell through, and I am so happy about it.
